This promotion is a little hard to find. It is not displayed prominently on LEGO.com or on Target.com. I also visited my local Target store today and did not see any advertising of this promotion at all. In fact, the shelves were pretty bare. This hasn’t been that unusual lately, and whether this is because the LEGO sets are selling out or due to supply chain issues is unclear. However, this promotion does not start until August 1st so maybe that’s why there was no advertising yet.

Scroll down until you see the Target logo on the left-hand side of the page.

Click where it says “Complete” and this box will popup with more detailed instructions. Select the photo of the receipt and submit!

This is a great promotion to be able to earn LEGO VIP Points on the Target exclusive LEGO sets. Additionally, even though the LEGO Collection x Target has been retired, you can still pick up the LEGO Collection x Target Art Project and LEGO Collection x Target Minifigure Astronaut Plush. But, did you also notice something special written on the Birthday Cake? This video from the LEGO Group’s Twitter account shows a wand lighting up the darkness. It moves quickly to reveal a very special Birthday Cake that fans of the Harry Potter series should instantly recognize. Take a look at the post below and see if you can spot it!

Don’t worry if you didn’t on your first try! At about 3 seconds into the video, the wand lights up the cake and you can make out the writing in the frosting. It says “Happee Birthdae Harry.” If you’re not familiar with the reference, keep reading and we will explain!

In the book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, on July 31, 1991, Rubeus Hagrid presented Harry Potter with this birthday cake in honor of his eleventh birthday. It was a sizable, gooey chocolate cake with green icing writing that read, “Happy Birthday Harry.” There was some left over when Hagrid stated he wouldn’t say no to a small portion of it in the early morning.

However, in the movie version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the cake spells out “Happee Birthdae Harry” and has pink frosting rather than chocolate frosting. Although, it contains green icing like in the novel. Even though it deviates from the canon of the novel, the cake as it was depicted in the movie has been a fairly frequent occurrence in goods and licensed books and games.

In fact, you must purchase them by December 1st to be on time for the start of the Christmas countdown! We predicted that these sets would become harder and harder to find as we approached the beginning of December.

All of the 2021 LEGO Advent Calendars are sold out on the online LEGO shop. It is going to be a challenge to find these sets on time this year, but we have a few ideas.

You never know what you might find when out shopping at the bargain stores. On this particular trip, I found a LEGO Dimensions 71253 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set at Big Lots. However, I did not buy it. You can read more about why below.

Big Lots is one of our recommended 58 Ways to Buy LEGO Sets. I don’t go there very often, but it definitely did not disappoint. But, I just wish they had a better LEGO Dimensions find! I would love to find a Scooby Doo or Ghostbusters pack. Nevertheless, I was extremely surprised to find this set as it retired in 2017.

LEGO Dimensions 71253 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

This set features a LEGO Newt Scamander minifigure. There is also a rebuildable Niffler, and MACUSA gateway. You can also rebuild the Niffler into the Vicious Vulture or Sinister Scorpion.

This set unlocks six new levels to play through the complete Fantastic Beasts story. Additionally, you can also play in an Adventure World and Battle Arena.

I am a big fan of the Harry Potter films, but not Fantastic Beasts. In fact, I couldn’t even make it through the first movie. I suspect this LEGO Dimensions Fantastic Beasts set is still available four years later because it wasn’t very popular. My recommendation would be to stick with one of the amazing LEGO Harry Potter 20th Anniversary sets.

There was no price tag on it to check the price, but this set retails new for $49.99. Currently, the resale price on BrickLink ranges from about $14 used to about $22 new. Even on sale, it likely wouldn’t be marked down that low. It was for all of these reasons that I passed on purchasing the set.

However, it did feel exciting to find an old retired set like this at Big Lots! It helps me to keep up my energy and curiosity to always check the LEGO section of stores for bargains.

Today is the last day for the 2021 LEGO Advent Calendars Sale at Target, but if you weren’t able to take advantage of this deal, don’t worry! The LEGO Advent Calendars are currently on sale at Walmart as part of their early Black Friday deals.

All five of the calendars are on sale, for the same prices as they were at Target. It is unclear how long this sale will last, but they are available now online and in-stores at Walmart. You must add the item to your cart to see the sale price.

As we have been stating, these Advent Calendars are going to be harder to get the closer we get to December and Christmas. As of this writing, they are still sold out on the LEGO shop online.

To celebrate the LEGO Harry Potter 20th Anniversary, the LEGO Group has enlisted the help of Neville Longbottom actor Matthew Lewis. For over 20 years, fans of Harry Potter have been able to replay their favorite moments from the Wizarding World with these magical LEGO sets. Lewis’ task is to recreate his favorite scenes from the Harry Potter films in LEGO. Specifically, he is to recreate his 20 favorite scenes spanning all of the movies.

You can view what he came up with below. This is a short video, but entertaining to watch what favorite scenes he chooses, and listen to his memories, anecdotes, and behind the scenes snippets from making the films.

The first LEGO minifigure to have a double-sided head was the Professor Quirrell minifigure from 2001 which has Voldemort’s face printed on the other side.

More than 80 different Harry Potter characters have been features as LEGO minifigures.

There are over 50 different versions of the LEGO Harry Potter minifigure, making it the most frequent minifig character appearing in sets over the past 20 years.

The first time Neville Longbottom appeared as a minifigure was in 2004. Currently, there are several different versions of him.
