The LEGO Group and the LEGO Foundation have announced a 960k EUR donation to the German Red Cross. These funds will go to support families affected by the flooding in Germany. Three months after the flooding, people in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany are still struggling with the aftermath and rebuilding their lives. The flooding occurred in July and destroyed several German villages.
The water is gone, but the need for relief efforts and aid continues unabated.

To help with this issue, the LEGO Group and the LEGO Foundation are announcing a donation of 960,000 Euros which will go to the German Red Cross. The funds are to help with building a family aid center and rebuilding ten kindergartens.
The ten kindergartens set for reconstruction are located in Euskirchen, Arhweiler and Stolberg/Eschweiler. The flood greatly affected these areas. The family aid center will be located in North Rhine-Westphalian. It will help the areas affected by the flood in the cities of Stolberg and Eschweiler. The goal is to provide safe, social environments for children and families where they can learn through play. Furthermore, the family aid center will include a trauma therapy center and a medical-therapeutic practice for children. Additionally, plans are to include an indoor playground.
The LEGO Foundation makes it a priority to help children learn through play. For example, in 2021, they gave charitable donations to many different partner organizations to support children in Haiti and Afghanistan. They also will donate to Save the Children India to help families impacted by COVID-19.
