The LEGO Group and Yinka Ilori have teamed up for the Launderette of Dreams. This is a free and interactive art instillation in London, which is only available for a limited time.
Using over 200,000 LEGO bricks, Ilori transforms a laundromat into a vibrant, playful, and colorful experience. Ilori drew on his experience of visiting his local launderette as a child in London. Additionally, he gained inspiration from students at his former primary school, St Jude & St Paul’s C of E. The students provided wonderful ideas of how to Rebuild the Word and transform the launderette with LEGO bricks.
The designs include interactive experiences, such as hopscotch tracks, kaleidoscope laundry drums, LEGO vending machines, and mural walls.
A giant mural wall allows visitors to build and rebuild it. The goal is to work together to create your own designs!
LEGO tables allow for another interactive play and build experience.
These LEGO washing machines are so unique and unlike anything we have seen before!
These kaleidoscope laundry drums would look so incredible spinning around.
The Launderette of Dreams is open to the public from October 28 to November 6, 2021 in London. I wish it was here in the US! Make sure to share this post with your friends from the UK, because this is something they won’t want to miss!
