Two LEGO Education and two LEGO City minifigures will be launching to space on the Orion spacecraft. They will be joining the uncrewed Artemis I mission. This is a part of the LEGO Group’s Build to Launch: A STEAM Exploration Series in partnership with NASA. The LEGO Education SPIKE Prime minifigure characters Kate and Kyle will be joined by LEGO City minifigures Julia and Sebastian.

The LEGO Space Team

Kate: Command Pilot

Kate is the Space Team’s Command Pilot. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. In the past, she used to be a LEGO City commercial pilot! She also rides a motorcycle. I really like her idea for a sushi restaurant and karaoke place called ‘Tunes and Tuna’!

Kyle: Pilot

Kyle is the pilot on the Space Team. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Formerly, he worked as a pilot for the LEGO Postal Service. Also, he is a singer for a Taylor Swift cover band!

Both of these team members are highly qualified. I bet they are looking forward to their journey to space!

Build To Launch: A STEAM Exploration Series

The Build to Launch Series is a free, 10-week digital learning series made in partnership between the LEGO Group and NASA. The NASA Artemis missions serve as inspiration for various STEAM careers and concepts. It can be tailored for K-12 teachers and used with other LEGO Education products.

Sending Kate and Kyle to space is an exciting culmination of the Build to Launch learning series and truly is a once in a lifetime real-world application for students.

The curriculum teaches concepts such as critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. There are three main learning themes which include ‘Getting to Space’, ‘Testing and Transport’, and ‘Working in Space’.

I have yet to be able to find the LEGO Minifigures Marvel Studios in stock! So, I set out to see if I could find them anywhere. My goal is to be able to collect all 12 minifigures.

The LEGO collectable minifigures are sold in two different ways: a 6 pack and individual packs. Therefore, there are two main ways of trying to collect them. You could buy 12 (or more) individual packs to see which minifigs you get, or you could by at least two 6 packs. There are two different kinds of minifigure 6 packs, one with six different minifigs each. So, you have a 50/50 chance of getting a different 6 pack to be able to collect all 12 minifigures.

In my opinion, the best way to collect all 12 would be to buy the 6 packs. Hopefully, I would get two different ones and then have all 12 right away! I ran into a couple of individual packs in Walgreens a few weeks ago, but since this doesn’t fit into my collection strategy I didn’t buy them.

I haven’t had much luck finding the 6 packs in stock. Both the individual and 6 packs are still sold out on the LEGO Shop online.

Using this tool, I was able to quickly find the individual minifig packs in stock at Walmart, and the 6 pack in stock at Target!

The LEGO 71031 Marvel collectable minifigures are very hard to find in stock. They are selling out at my local LEGO store within minutes! Online at the LEGO Shop, they are either out of stock or on backorder. This applies to both the individual packs and the minifigure 6 pack. If you are having trouble finding them, check your local Walgreens for the LEGO Marvel minifigures!

I was shopping at Walgreens for an unrelated reason and came across these finds! I have a habit of checking the LEGO section of any store I am in to see what deals I may discover. There are only two packs, but the Marvel collectable minifigures were in stock. The retail price tag is mislabeled with the wrong set number, and this is also not the correct price. The usual retail price is $4.99. There were no 6-packs to be found, but if you are looking for some individual bags here they are.

Who could guess the LEGO Marvel Minifigures would be at Walgreens? Sometimes you can find rare LEGO sets in unexpected places. It is always a good idea to check the toy section of any store you may be in, as you will never know what LEGO sales and deals you might find. I have some great LEGO find stories, like the time I found a retired LEGO Star Wars set at the Disney Store and another retired LEGO Toy Story set at Barnes & Noble. The sets then increase in size, complexity, and time to build all the way up to sets made especially for adults!
