<p>Join in on the fun for the LEGO Group&#8217;s 90th Anniversary! On select days in August, you can build a free LEGO Red Brick when you <a href="https://www.lego.com/en-us/stores/events/red-brick-build-us" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">visit your local LEGO retail store</a>.</p>

<p>It is part of the LEGO Group&#8217;s 90 years of play celebration. Other ways to celebrate are with gifts with purchase, like with the <a href="https://thebrickparent.com/lego-40567-forest-hideout-gift-with-purchase-is-available-again/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LEGO Forest Hideout</a>, and fun and fast <a href="https://www.lego.com/en-us/90-years-of-play/90-second-challenge" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">90-second challenge builds</a>.</p>

<p>For this event, you can build a LEGO Red Brick and then take it home with you for free! This promotion only takes place in your local LEGO store on August 10 and August 11, 2022. There are only a limited number of quantities available each day so make sure to arrive at the store early.</p>

<p>The sets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Each person will receive only one set. Also, the sets are not available for purchase. You will be given instructions on how to complete the build once you arrive to the store. If you want to check out the instructions beforehand or to build at home, <a href="https://brickset.com/sets/REDBRICK-1?more-images" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Brickset has them posted</a>. The set has 66 pieces.</p>

<p>This promotion runs during the middle of the week on a Wednesday and Thursday, so it might be hard for most people to attend during the work week. But if you are able to, it would be fun to take a break and head down to your LEGO store to create this free build!</p>

<p class="has-text-align-center has-small-font-size"><em>Photos used with permission. ©2021 The LEGO Group.</em></p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<p>The LEGO Group asked over 6,000 children what instructions they would give to world leaders to help tackle the climate crisis. The result is ten <em><a href="https://www.lego.com/en-us/sustainability/building-instructions-for-a-better-world" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Building Instructions for a Better World</a></em>, which will be presented at COP26 (UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties). These <a href="https://thebrickparent.com/how-to-find-missing-lego-instructions/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">building instructions</a> follow the style we all know and love from LEGO sets. The LEGO Group is helping to give children a larger voice to help address climate change. </p>

<p>At COP26, world leaders will gather in Glasgow to address how to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The LEGO Group will present these building instructions to leaders at this event. One of the goals of the LEGO building instructions is to remind policy makers to remember children, who are the next generation, in their decision making.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p><em>We have joined forces with young people across the globe to develop the Building Instructions for a Better World, giving children a voice and making sure their voice is heard by world leaders during COP26 – one of the most important climate summits of our time.</em></p><cite>&#8211; <a href="https://www.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/news/2021/october/building-instructions-for-a-better-world" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tim Brooks, VP of Environmental Responsibility at the LEGO Group</a></cite></blockquote>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Building Instructions for a Better World</h2>

<p>The <em>Building Instructions for a Better World</em> include the following:</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Reduce pollution and waste.</li><li>Protect nature</li><li>Change laws.</li><li>Stop ignoring the problem: do more.</li><li>Educate people. </li><li>Reduce emissions.</li><li>Cooperate internationally.</li><li>Leaders, change your own behavior. </li><li>Invest in the environment. </li><li>Help people and future generations.</li></ol>

<p>Check out the full LEGO instructions below.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="724" height="1024" src="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/LEGO-Building-Instructions-for-a-Better-World.png?resize=724%2C1024&#038;ssl=1" alt="LEGO Building Instructions for a Better World COP26" class="wp-image-2167" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/LEGO-Building-Instructions-for-a-Better-World.png?resize=724%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 724w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/LEGO-Building-Instructions-for-a-Better-World.png?resize=212%2C300&amp;ssl=1 212w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/LEGO-Building-Instructions-for-a-Better-World.png?resize=768%2C1086&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/LEGO-Building-Instructions-for-a-Better-World.png?w=1080&amp;ssl=1 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px" /><figcaption> <em>Photos used with permission. ©2021 The LEGO Group.</em></figcaption></figure></div>

<p>These instructions are part of the LEGO Group&#8217;s &#8216;<a href="https://www.lego.com/en-us/sustainability/children/build-the-change/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Build the Change</a>&#8216; program. Additionally, they will be hosting workshops to discuss learning through play and biodiversity challenges.</p>

<p>Overall, the building instructions are a part of the LEGO Group&#8217;s effort and commitment to improve sustainability. These efforts include:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><a href="https://thebrickparent.com/the-lego-group-to-begin-phase-in-of-paper-bags-by-early-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Phasing-in of paper bags in packaging by early 2022</a>.</li><li><a href="https://thebrickparent.com/the-lego-group-to-begin-phase-in-of-paper-bags-by-early-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Creating a prototype recycled LEGO brick</a>. </li><li><a href="https://thebrickparent.com/donate-and-recycle-your-old-bricks-with-lego-replay/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LEGO Replay &#8211; a program to donate and recycle old bricks</a>. </li><li><a href="https://thebrickparent.com/lego-technic-model-is-now-a-real-volvo-prototype-construction-vehicle/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Partnership with Volvo to create the first prototype electric construction vehicle from a LEGO Technic set</a>.</li></ul>

<p>We are so glad that the LEGO Group is giving children of the world a greater voice at COP26. We hope that the current world leaders and decision makers listen to what they have to say to create a better world for the future leaders of tomorrow.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator is-style-wide"/>

<p>Celebrate your summer and fire up the barbecue with this LEGO Mini Grill by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/briques_au_depot/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Briques au dépôt</a>. This highly detailed mini build has everything you need for your cookout. There is a lot on the menu including hot dogs, watermelon, pizza, fish, and two different beverages! Lookout because the flames are rising high! My favorite part is the dog looking on from the bottom. Even though he has his bone right next to him, he is still hoping for a bite of freshly cooked meat. Sounds like a couple of dogs that I know. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="750" height="750" src="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front.jpg?resize=750%2C750&#038;ssl=1" alt="LEGO Mini Grill MOC Front" class="wp-image-947" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front.jpg?w=750&amp;ssl=1 750w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front.jpg?resize=80%2C80&amp;ssl=1 80w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front.jpg?resize=320%2C320&amp;ssl=1 320w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></figure>

<p>The grill cleans up really great! I like how special attention is paid to both sides of the grill with different areas for cooking. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="750" height="750" src="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-2.jpg?resize=750%2C750&#038;ssl=1" alt="LEGO Mini Grill MOC Open Top" class="wp-image-949" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-2.jpg?w=750&amp;ssl=1 750w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-2.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-2.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-2.jpg?resize=80%2C80&amp;ssl=1 80w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-2.jpg?resize=320%2C320&amp;ssl=1 320w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></figure>

<p>The top of the grill even closes for compact storage. Monitor your heat and cooking temperature with the dials and gauges on the top and front. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="750" height="750" src="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-3.jpg?resize=750%2C750&#038;ssl=1" alt="LEGO Mini Grill MOC Closed Top" class="wp-image-953" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-3.jpg?w=750&amp;ssl=1 750w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-3.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-3.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-3.jpg?resize=80%2C80&amp;ssl=1 80w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Front-3.jpg?resize=320%2C320&amp;ssl=1 320w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></figure>

<p>From the top, you can see the cooking area even better! With so many delicious foods to choose from, I wish I could be a part of this BBQ! </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="750" height="750" src="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Top.jpg?resize=750%2C750&#038;ssl=1" alt="LEGO Mini Grill MOC Top" class="wp-image-954" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Top.jpg?w=750&amp;ssl=1 750w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Top.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Top.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Top.jpg?resize=80%2C80&amp;ssl=1 80w, https://i0.wp.com/thebrickparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Mini-Grill-MOC-Top.jpg?resize=320%2C320&amp;ssl=1 320w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></figure>
