To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the LEGO modular building collection, the LEGO Group has revealed a new Boutique Hotel. The LEGO Creator Expert 10297 Boutique Hotel is the luxurious new addition to your LEGO city. Coming in at 3,066 pieces and a retro feel, it will look great anywhere on the block.

This new set will be available on January 1, 2022. It is the 17th LEGO set in the modular building collection (if you were counting). Other notable sets in this collection are the LEGO Bookshop, LEGO Assembly Square, and LEGO Police Station. Additionally, the LEGO Corner Garage is going to be retiring soon. Fans of the modular buildings will love all of the Easter Eggs in this new set. Be sure to check out the building instructions for many of them.

It was really exciting to be working on the LEGO Boutique Hotel and to have the opportunity to design this in celebration of 15 years of the collection. When we approach the design for a modular building we are conscious of the previous sets and therefore want to create something that is new, that really compliments the collection. I am really happy with the final design, the variety of intriguing building techniques and all the nods to the previous Modular buildings.

Let’s take a look at all of the amazing details.

Packaging

The front of the packaging shows off a cool logo for 15 years of LEGO Modular Buildings. Notice the triangular geometry, arches, and curves. This boutique hotel gains inspiration from turn-of-the-century European architecture

The back of the packaging reveals that this set comes in five sections. It also shows how it fits well in the corner of a LEGO city block next to the police station and bookstore. Each section contains stunning details.

Minifigures

A total of seven minifig characters come with this set. These are a bellhop, receptionist, coffee vendor, gallery owner, hotel guests, and hotel staff.

Build

This LEGO modular building comes in five different sections. The ground floor features the lobby and an art gallery. Furthermore, the art gallery showcases Cubist art.

Additionally, the terrace has an art gallery reception and palm tree. The name of the art gallery, “El Cubo,” is shown on the sign out front. This palm tree looks simply amazing.

Hotel rooms are found on the first floor. Also, each room has its own style of furniture and requires unique building techniques.

The second floor has the penthouse suite. The unique angles provide for a challenging building experience.

An amazing decorative dome is on the roof. Love the curved windows!

Can you believe the holiday season is already here? With Thanksgiving tomorrow, we know that you will be spending time with your family, eating great food, and building with LEGO! There are so many fun activities coming up this weekend. We think there is no better way to spend Thanksgiving than building with LEGO bricks together. In this post we will look at our picks for the best LEGO sets to build with your family on Thanksgiving.

Before we dive into the list, let’s review all of the LEGO events for tomorrow and the weekend. On Thanksgiving Day, don’t miss the LEGO Brick-Changer float that will appear in the The 95th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Even now, you can take a look at some great early Black Friday Deals at Amazon on LEGO sets. Furthermore, LEGO Black Friday 2021 is coming 11/26-11/29! And finally, the LEGO Holiday Truck is on the move and might be coming to a city near you this holiday season.

Now, we will look at some great LEGO sets to build with together on Thanksgiving.

Build To Give

While not an official LEGO set, the LEGO Group has provided instructions on how to build a LEGO star for their #BuildToGive campaign. Families can follow these instructions and modify them, or come up with their own designs. By building a star together and sharing it on social media using the hashtag #BuildToGive, the LEGO Group will donate a LEGO set to a child in need. What an amazing activity to do on Thanksgiving together! Check out the LEGO instructions below for inspiration.

LEGO BrickHeadz 40273 Thanksgiving Turkey

It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a brick-built LEGO Turkey! This set is now retired, but is super cute and would look great as a Thanksgiving table decoration. LEGO 40261 Thanksgiving Harvest

As a 2017 holiday seasonal set, it is now retired, but is one of our favorites for Thanksgiving. It features a harvest setting, two minifigure characters, a Thanksgiving turkey, carriage, bird, scarecrow, and an autumn tree. The buildable vegetable garden and fall accessories are so cute!

LEGO Creator Expert 10292 The Friends Apartments

It is not officially classified as a Thanksgiving set, but The Friends Apartments definitely could be! Check out what is on Monica’s kitchen table: nothing other than a Thanksgiving turkey!

Rebuild season 5, episode 8 “The One With All The Thanksgivings” from Friends! The Thanksgiving turkey ended up on both Joey and Monica’s heads in this episode. This would be a really fun build to play out on Thanksgiving Day.

The LEGO 10294 Titanic Designer Video is now available. At over nine minutes, this is one of the longest and most interesting LEGO Designer Videos that I have seen.

This video takes you on a journey through the LEGO Titanic with LEGO Designer Mike Psiaki and Andrew Skinner from the Southampton SeaCity Museum. Not only will you learn about the LEGO set design, you will also learn interesting facts about the actual Titanic ship.

The video is a walkthrough of the LEGO Titanic from the bottom of the ship to the top. The build is split into three different sections. Also, you can choose build order which is a very neat feature.

At one of the largest LEGO sets of all time, this build is massive. Although, even with its huge size, there are still very detailed features included throughout. It is very interesting listening to Psiaki walk you through many of them. The LEGO benches scattered throughout the ship are some of my favorites. Additionally, there are only printed elements in this set, no stickers! You won’t want to miss learning about the new LEGO element made for this build, and how the designers were able to achieve the exact angles they needed. I also definitely learned some new facts about the Titanic from Skinner.

One interesting way to sort through all of the many wonderful LEGO sets is by the number of bricks or pieces. In this post, we take a look at the largest LEGO sets of all time. The order of this list has changed several times over the last couple of years, most recently with the addition of the LEGO Titanic and the LEGO AT-AT. This list is sorted by the number of pieces, not by the overall size of the built set. We will continue to update this list as bigger and bigger sets are released!

1. LEGO Art 31203 World Map – 11,695 pieces

LEGO Art 31203 World Map is the currently the largest LEGO set at 11,695 pieces. This massive set allows you to build 1 of 3 unique combinations of the world map. Relax as you build with the included soundtrack.

2. LEGO Creator Expert 10294 Titanic – 9,090 pieces

A recent addition to this list in the second largest LEGO set spot is LEGO Creator Expert 10294 Titanic at 9,090 pieces. Flying in at the fourth largest LEGO set is the LEGO Star Wars 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon at 7,541 pieces. As an owner of this set myself, I can truly attest to how amazing it is. It is incredibly detailed and will appeal to all Star Wars fans with the ability to choose between the classic or sequel crewmembers. This set is also #1 on our list of the Top 10 Best LEGO Millennium Falcon sets. Furthermore, it is also the most expensive LEGO set ever.

5. LEGO Star Wars 75313 UCS AT-AT – 6,785 pieces

The newest addition to the list and another Star Wars UCS set is LEGO Star Wars 75313 UCS AT-AT with 6,785 pieces. Not only is it the fifth largest LEGO set, it is also tied for the most expensive with the UCS Millennium Falcon above. That makes two Millennium Falcon’s in the top 10! When this set came out it was the biggest set ever made. Now, the largest LEGO set is over double the number of pieces of this set! Details of the new LEGO 10294 Titanic set are now available. To date, this is the largest LEGO set by size, but not by the number of pieces. The ship measures 53 inches long with a height of 17.5 inches and width of 6 inches. It has 9,090 pieces, which makes it the second largest LEGO set by the number of pieces, just behind the LEGO 31203 Art World Map that has a total of 11,695 pieces. The LEGO RMS Titanic bumps the LEGO 10276 Colosseum to the third largest slot with its 9,036 pieces.

Whichever way you look at it, this set is massive. Here you can see the front of the box, which showcases just how large it is.

Packaging

The back of the box shows the three different sections of the ship, which is how you can see the spectacular interiors.

LEGO Titanic Build

The LEGO 10294 Titanic is an accurate replica of the iconic ship at a 1:200 scale.

Even the engine room is incredibly detailed. For example, when the propellers turn on the outside it makes the piston engines turn on the inside.

There are several other features that also really work. Such as, the anchor can be raised and the tension line adjusted between the masts.

Amazing cross sections showcase the boiler room, grand staircase, smoking lounge, and more.

You can build special features such as the swimming pool, ship’s bridge, and promenade deck.

A plaque and display stand come with the build for a truly awe inspiring presentation.

The LEGO Creator Expert Titanic comes with a hefty price tag of $629.99. It will be available for pre-order on November 1, 2021, and officially goes on sale November 8, 2021.
