LEGO 21330 Ideas Home Alone Details Revealed Before Christmas

Just in time for the Holidays and 31 years after the film debut, The LEGO Group has released details on the fan-designed LEGO Ideas Home Alone set. Fans of this Christmas movie will recognize the iconic McCallister home and be able to relive all of the most memorable scenes from the film. Harry and Marv are still no match for Kevin’s holiday mischief.

Packaging
This set is truly straight out of the film, as the outside and inside are identical to the movie. You can instantly recognize the home from the front of the box. I love how the house is decorated for the holidays and there is snow on the ground. The shutters and Christmas lights are very unique features. The set also includes Kevin’s tree house with zipline and the robbers’ van.
This set includes all of the floors of the house, including the ground floor, first floor, kitchen, basement, and attic. The coolest feature of this set is that the house completely opens up as shown on the back of the box. Even the roof opens upwards as well.
LEGO Home Alone Minifigures
The biggest disappointment in this set is the minifigures. It only comes with five. I know that for the majority of the movie it is only Kevin, Harry, and Marv, but it would have been nice to have other members of Kevin’s family included. If old man Marley and Kevin’s mother Kate made the cut, it doesn’t make sense why his dad didn’t make it into the set. Or at least Kevin’s big brother Buzz.
These minifigures are well done though, and some have dual-sided heads. Of course they couldn’t leave out Kevin’s screaming face or Marv’s burned with the iron.
Iconic Movie Scenes
The greatest feature of this set is that it is packed with iconic moments and scenes from the movie. Even the Michael Jordan cardboard cut out is here. Kevin is enjoying a nice bowl of chocolate ice cream.

A feature we have not seen before in a LEGO Ideas set, is that it you can build it along with the plot of the Home Alone movie. The set is like a LEGO Advent Calendar, in that it is divided up into 24 individual bags with the build order following along with the film.
